The Princess Ai manga
Ai is back for a new trilogy. At the cease of the previous volume Ai had regained her memories, discovered the extent of her powers and was poised to return to Ai-land. What would become of the Second Revolution? Would the dougen be liberated? Would the tenketsu harvesting in T.R.A.P. be close downward? Would her begetter King Sei be defeated? What would happen to renegade angel Kaz who tried to take her killed? The book begins. "Ai-country. One year since the revolution ended." Ohh . . .The Princess Ai manga has always had a delicate balancing act to follow between the frothier relationship and music plotlines, and the enslavement of the dougen. Conspicuously the one-time plotlines are popular, and Kent and Ai certainly have some sweet moments, only the serial' refusal to delve into the serious bug information technology raises in favour of Ai performing at yet some other concert are starting to come up beyond as lazy.
One yr later and most of the questions raised at the finish of the last book are pretty much . . . okay. The 2nd Revolution? Went fine. The dougen? Fully integrated into society. TRAP? Shut down. (In that location's apparently an energy crunch but not and then bad that the new king is seen to do anything about it.) King Sei? Who even knows where he is. Kaz? Who cares if he tried to have Ai killed, no need for him to go along trial.
Of course, these might be delved into in later volumes, and some are brought up towards the end of this book to a certain extent, but for at present we're back with Ai in the castle. True to her form in the final trilogy she'southward complaing again nigh how she can't do what she wants to, but this time the gilded muzzle is the Ai-country palace rather than at HTA, with Nora property the keys.
You may call back Nora from the final series as the affections who transported Ai to earth, who it was pretty conspicuously unsaid was in a human relationship with Ai, what with the declarations of love and the kissing. PoMD pulls a Star Wars on us as information technology now turns out that they're half siblings and the kiss is never brought up over again. Endeavour not to think about it too much. The writers clearly didn't.
Ai is bummed because she'south in a writing slump, feeling like a figurehead instead of an ruler. Rather than exist interested in learning anything near Ai-land the all-time thing to practice is have a concert which is simultaneously screened on world. When Sir Edwin See, who set up the link to earth, is kidnapped, Ai and the furies travel back to earth to investigate. The mystery isn't of any cracking note, as barring a mention at the stop of book 3 Sir Edwin is kidnapped as presently as he is introduced so its hard to se why Ai would risk so much to rescue him.
Of greater involvement is the return of Kent. I may accept preferred the plot to focus on the goings on in Ai-state but there is undoubtedly a sweetness to a lot of Kent and Ai'southward interactions that at least brand her more enjoyable to read. In Ai's absence Kent has picked upwards a pretty heavy handed drug abuse metaphor, and whilst it'due south non remotely subtle at that place are still scenes that manage to be quite affecting.

"How could she expect him to live a normal life... after being with her?"
Ai descends dorsum to Earth on a mission only to find that H.T.A., her sometime record producing company, has been corrupted and is poisoning the minds of all those that heed to their music.
Not only that only, what of the pain that Ai left It'southward been an entire year since Princess Ai left Globe to bring an end to the Second Revolution on Ai-Land. All was peaceful, except for in Ai's heart and those that she left behind on Earth.

It's but interesting enough for me to check out the next volume (then long as the library has it), then I suppose I'll give it a try.
I was a bit disappointed past the get-go of this serial. It's missing the spark the original trilogy had. Maybe information technology'southward because it's a sequel that they felt similar information technology could kickoff out on such a nighttime notation. Information technology picked upwards a bit as the volume progressed, but the showtime felt like a slog. It's just interesting enough for me to cheque out the side by side volume (and then long as the library has it), so I suppose I'll give it a try.
